A hard disk drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive (HD), is the central storage mechanism in the computer. It is non-volatile and holds digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. It is usually the home to the operating systems, the software and most files. To break it down, "drive" refers to a device distinct from its medium, like a tape drive and its tape. Early hard drives had removable media; however, a hard drive today is often a sealed unit (except for a filtered vent hole to equalize air pressure) with fixed media. You can learn more about hard drives by reading Wikipedias article on hard drives.

We offer three different hard drive options:

Hard Drives (SATA / Non-Clearance Servers) Max 4 Per Server:

  • Seagate 320GB SATA HD: $20/m
  • Seagate 500GB SATA HD: $30/m
  • Seagate 750GB SATA HD: $50/m
  • Seagate 1000GB SATA HD: $90/m

NOTE: We only offer 320GB hard drives as the second drive so unless 1st drive is upgraded (in the case of servers with either 160GB or 250GB hard drives installed), adding a second larger drive will revert the RAID configuration to the size of the 1st drive.

  • Seagate 73GB SAS 15K RPM HD: $50/m
  • Seagate 146GB SAS 15K RPM HD: $80/m
  • Seagate 300GB SAS 15K RPM HD: $175/m

Hard Drives (IDE / Clearance Servers Only) Max 2 Per Server:

  • Additional 120GB IDE HD: $15/m
  • Additional 250GB IDE HD: $20/m
  • Additional 500GB IDE HD: $30/m
